Harold Everett Roseberry, 94, of New Lebanon died at 11:42 p.m. Wednesday, May 23, 2007 at the Sullivan Health and Living Center . The 1930 graduate of Merom High School was born October 9, 1912 in Sullivan to Roy Roseberry and Grace Bogard Roseberry. He was appointed to the Indiana State Police May 1, 1939 and retired July 1, 1965 after twenty six years as a Detective First Sergeant. He was appointed Sheriff of Sullivan County to fill the term of the late Les Daves and elected Sheriff in 1966 and served two terms in that capacity; he also served as a bailiff in the Sullivan County Superior Court and a juvenile probation officer. He was a member of the New Lebanon United Methodist Church, the Carlisle Masonic Lodge #3 F&AM, the Scottish Rite and the Zorah Shrine Temple. He was preceded in death by his wife of sixty five years Gladys Smith Roseberry who died December 26, 2001 .
Survivors include two daughters Regina Ridge and her husband Dean and Rebecca Libke and her husband Jim all of Sullivan, five grandchildren Steven Hobbs, Rosanna Pirtle, Eric Hobbs, John Ridge and Kevin Libke, fourteen great grandchildren, nine great, great grandchildren and other relatives.
Services will be at 11:00 a.m. Tuesday at the Holmes Memorial Chapel in Sullivan. Burial will be in Center Ridge Cemetery . Visitation is 5-8:00 Monday with Masonic Services at 7:00 p.m. Pallbearers will be members of the Indiana State Police and the Sullivan County Sheriff's Department.
