Russell "Runt" Wolfe, 74, of Sullivan died at 10:30 a.m. Monday, February 12, 2007 in his residence. He was born August 30, 1932 in Sullivan to Raymond E. Wolfe and Mary Amy Koons Wolfe. He was the former owner and operator of "Runts" in Sullivan. He was a member of the First Christian Church, the Sullivan Masonic Lodge and the Sullivan Odd Fellows Lodge. He was preceded in death by his parents, four brothers John Wolfe, Paul William Wolfe, Charles Wolfe and Basil Wolfe and one sister Geneva Mason.
Survivors include his wife of fifty three years Sally Ann Ammerman Wolfe of Sullivan whom he married April 25, 1953, two sons Mike Wolfe and his wife Cindy of Jasonville and Greg Wolfe and his wife Clara of Sullivan, one daughter Jill Fleener and her husband Doug of Sullivan, two brothers Richard Wolfe of Sullivan and George Wolfe of Terre Haute, two sisters Hazel Null of Warsaw and Rosemary Wade of Portland, nine grandchildren James Russell Wolfe, Lawren Beth Wolfe, Michael Troy Black, Angela Fleener, Gabe Fleener, Melissa Wolfe, Nathan Wolfe, Whitney Wolfe and Noel Wolfe, one great grandchild Kane Black and other relatives.
Services were at 11:00 a.m. Saturday, February 17, 2007 at the Holmes Memorial Chapel. Rev. Dale Wise officiated. Burial was in the Center Ridge Cemetery . Pallbearers were George Wolfe, Doug Fleener, Bud Fulford, Michael Troy Black, Jack Hardin and Brad Cox. Honorary pallbearers were Richard Wolfe, Bruce Wolfe, Gabe Fleener and Roger Britt. Masonic memorial services were at 7:00 p.m. Friday, February 16, 2007.
