Nellie F. Badger, 79, of Graysville was called home to be with her Lord and savior at 10:25 p.m. Wednesday, December 17, 2008 at Union Hospital. She was surrounded by the family she dearly loved as she was called home. She was a devoted disciple and follower of Jesus Christ. The 1947 graduate of Graysville High School was born July 8, 1929 in Sullivan county to Byron Foutz and Fern Montgomery Foutz. Nellie was an active member in all areas of ministry at Kingsley Memorial United Methodist Church. She will be fondly remembered for her sugar cookies and devotion to her card ministry. She was preceded in death by her parents, one son Byron Raines Badger and two sisters Ruth Foutz and Mary Nichols.
Survivors include her husband of fifty-nine years Lowell Badger of Graysville whom she married August 28, 1949, two daughters Brenda (Don) Bales, Terre Haute and Linda (Steve) Sturgeon, Bluffton, one son Alan (Audrey) Badger, Sullivan, six grandchildren Don (Bonnie) Bales, Zanesville, Ron Bales, Laporte, Matthew and Aaron Sturgeon, Bluffton, Kelsey and Patrick Badger, Graysville, two great grandchildren Faith and Franklin Bales, two sisters including her twin Stella Gilbreath and Fern Van Allen, Terre Haute and other relatives.
Services will be at 11:00 a.m. Monday at the Holmes Memorial Chapel with Revs. Paul Myers, Frank Van Allen, Paul Ayers and Dennis Alstott officiating. Burial will be in the Center Ridge Cemetery. Visitation is 4-8:00 p.m. Sunday. Nellie requested that in lieu of flowers memorial contributions be made to Kingsley Memorial UMC, c/o Riley Nichols, 9581 W.
