Larry Joe Williams, 56, of Sullivan died at 5:01 a.m. Thursday, September 04, 2008 in Methodist Hospital, Indianapolis. The 1970 graduate of East Chicago High School was born November 25, 1951 in East Chicago to Robert "Red" Williams and Belva Joan Burns Williams Grise. He was a former employee of the Sullivan County Jail and a bartender at Runt's. He was a U.S. Army veteran and a member of the Sullivan Odd Fellows Lodge. He was preceded in death by his parents.
Survivors include four brothers Billy Williams, Carlisle; James Williams, Tom Williams and Christopher Williams all of Sullivan, three sisters Roberta Raley, Terre Haute; Sherrie Bryant, Madison, TN and Jeanna Francis of Terre Haute, and other relatives.
Services will be at 1:00 p.m. Monday at the Holmes Memorial Chapel with Rev. Mark Hamaker officiating. Burial with military rites by the Sullivan, Shelburn and Hymera American Legions and the Sullivan Veterans of Foreign Wars will be in the Shepherd Cemetery near Carlisle. Pallbearers will be Billy Williams, James Williams, Tom Williams, Christopher Williams, Rusty Sanders, Michael Mitchell, Christopher Grise and Brad Cox. Visitation is 11:30 a.m. until time of services Monday.
