Barbara L. Wilson, 78, of Sullivan died at 9:44 p.m. Saturday, January 26, 2008 in Terre Haute Regional Hospital. The 1947 graduate of Carlisle High School was born April 21, 1929 in Paxton to Clayton Walters and Vera Arnett Walters. She was a retired dental assistant and a member of the Sullivan First Christian Church. She was a graduate of Indiana State University, a member and Esteemed Leading Knight at the Sullivan Elks Club #911 and a member of the Sullivan American Legion Auxiliary Post #139, a former president of the Sullivan County Historical Society and a member of the Merom Institute Board. She was a past president of the Carlisle Alumni Association and president of the Paxton Alumni Association. She was preceded in death by her husband of fifty nine years George M. Wilson who died June 27, 2007, also her parents and one sister Beverly Rae.

Survivors include one son Gary Wilson and his wife Sheree of Evansville, two daughters Ginny Lea Quinlan and her husband John of Beaver, PA and Sandra Kay Hunt and her husband Tom of Dallas, TX, one brother Ralph Walters of Sullivan, one sister Carrie Bryant of Sullivan, four grandchildren, one great grandchild and other relatives.

Services were at 11:00 a.m. Wednesday, January 30, 2008 at the Sullivan First Christian Church. Rev. Dale Wise officiated. Burial was in the Center Ridge Cemetery. Pallbearers were Jeff Lookebill, Randy Snellenburger, Mark Kelly, Dale Phippips, Bill Wright and Bill Fisher.
