Lois E. Van Meter, 88, of Bloomington and formerly of Terre Haute died at 10:40 a.m. Friday, January 18, 2008 in the Bloomington Hospital. She had been living with her daughter in Bloomington for the last few years. The 1937 graduate of Carlisle High School was born June 20, 1919 in Paxton to Jesse McCammon and Rosa Bowen McCammon. She was a former employee of Wabash Fiber Box and a former bookkeeper for Poff's Sporting Goods and Kleptz Aluminum. She was a member of the Northside Church of Christ at Terre Haute. She was preceded in death by her parents and one brother Elbert McCammon and her step mother May McCammon.

Survivors include one son Allen Van Meter and his wife Darlene of Carlisle, one daughter Linda Kassissieh and her husband Joe of Bloomington, seven grandchildren, ten great grandchildren and other relatives.

Services were at 2:00 p.m. Monday, January 21, 2008 at the Holmes Memorial Chapel in Sullivan. Bro. Allan Griggs officiated. Burial was in the Carlisle Odd Fellows Cemetery. Pallbearers were John Hiatt, Allen Van Meter, Tony Kassissieh, Norman McCammon, Shawn Wines and Chester McCammon.
