Hazel Viola McAnally, 97, of Hymera died at 10:50 p.m. Sunday, May 11, 2008 in the Sullivan County Community Hospital. She was born January 6, 1911 in Pimento to Charles Dean and Allie All Dean. She was a homemaker and a member of the Hymera Southern Baptist Church. She was preceded in death by her parents, her husband Sam McAnally, two daughters Mary Swiger and Dorothy Royals, four brothers and Arthur, Leslie, Lawrence and Nelson Dean, four sisters Eathel McAnally, Anna Henderson, Mary Myers and Nellie Eddy and one grandson Keith McAnnally.
Survivors include three sons Harry McAnally and wife Shirley, Carl McAnally and wife Faytha and Leslie McAnally and wife Judy all of Hymera, two daughters Helen Mayfield and husband Charles of Shelburn and Hazel Boyll and husband Bob of Farmersburg, two brothers Earl Dean of Longview, WA, and Leo Dean of Terre Haute, twelve grandchildren, eighteen great grandchildren, two great, great grandchildren and other relatives.
Services will be at 1:00 p.m. Wednesday at the Holmes Memorial Chapel in Sullivan with Rev. Harley Archer officiating. Burial will be in the Nyes Chapel Cemetery, near Hymera. Pallbearers are Josh Archer, Mark McAnally, Bob McAnally, Andrew Carpenter, Marshall Carpenter, Mike Boyll, Scott McAnally and Mick McAnally. Visitation is 10:00 a.m. until time of services Wednesday.
