Marion D. "Dusty" Padgett, 70, Of Sullivan passed away at 8:03 a.m. Monday, June 22, 2009 at the Sullivan County Community Hospital. The 1957 graduate of Sullivan High School was born February 1, 1939 in Sullivan to Marion Padgett and Lora Ladson Padgett. He was a retired mechanic for Harry's Tire and had worked at Milburn's Pharmacy. He was co-owner of "Dusty Collectibles" at Worthington and a member of Crossroads Community Church. Dusty was an avid bowler and past president of the Wednesday Men's Bowling League at Sullivan Lanes. He was preceded in death by his parents and one brother Carl Padgett.
Survivors include his wife of thirty-three years Jane Ann Brown Padgett of Sullivan whom he married May 15, 1976, three sons Jerry McNeely, Temecula, CA, Joe McNeely, Fort Wayne and Jeff (Michelle) McNeely, Sullivan. one brother Leland Padgett, Sullivan, six grandchildren Justin McNeely, Robert Hoolihan, Braxton McNeely, Cameron McNeely, Abby McNeely and Spencer McNeely and other relatives.
Services will be at 1:00 p.m. Friday at the Holmes Memorial Chapel with Rev. David Cox officiating. Burial will be at a later date. Visitation is 11:00 until time of services Friday.
