Ernest F. "Rick" Lumsdon, 64, of Sullivan passed away at 6:56 p.m. Saturday, December 19, 2009 in Terre Haute Regional Hospital. The U.S. Army veteran was born June 25, 1945 in Tampa, Fl to Lester Lumsdon and Maxine Dozier Lumsdon. He was a retired electrician of Pfizer's Inc and former employee of Pillsbury. He was a member of the Sullivan American Legion, the Sullivan Elks Club and the NRA. He was preceded in death by his parents.
Survivors include his wife Gloria Jean Woodard Lumsdon of Sullivan, one son Erik (and Heather) Lumsdon, of Terre Haute, two daughters Traci (and Frank) Hart of Terre Haute, and Sara Lumsdon of Indianapolis, one step son Seth Grady of Gosport, two step daughters Julie (and Todd) Russell, Shelburn and Janet Ficklin, Sullivan. three sisters Jill Dixon, Port Charlotte, FL, Pam Pierce, Brazil and Meg Romanyk, Terre Haute, five grandchildren, eight step grandchildren and other relatives.
Services will be at 1:00 p.m. Tuesday at the Holmes Memorial Chapel with Rev. Charles Bose officiating. Burial with military graveside rites by the Sullivan, Shelburn and Hymera American Legions and the Sullivan Veterans of Foreign Wars will be in the K of P Cemetery near Hymera. Visitation will be 11:00 a.m. until time of services on Tuesday.
