Wayne Eugene Noble, 80, of Sullivan passed away at 11:30 p.m. Saturday, November 28, 2009 in his residence. The 1947 graduate of New Lebanon High School was born May 22, 1929 in Merom to Oscar Noble and Goldie Arnett Noble. He was a retired Lab Technician for the Pfizer Co and a U.S. Army veteran. He was a member of the Sullivan American Legion and the Veterans of Foreign Wars. Wayne was an avid baseball fan that coached Little League baseball for nineteen years and also coached Babe Ruth and the American Legion teams. Wayne, enjoyed reading good literature and traveling all fifty states with his wife Wanda. He was preceded in death by his parents, one brother Hansel "Hank" Noble, one grandchild and one great grandchild.

Survivors include his wife of fifty-eight years Wanda Porter Noble whom he married June 1, 1952, two sons Harold (and Cheryl) Noble, Lafayette and Charles (and Karen) Noble, Sullivan, two daughters Nancy (and Mike) Monk and Liz Bedwell all of Graysville, one sister Selma (and Fred) Lash, Knightsville, thirteen grandchildren, eight great grandchildre n and other relatives.

Services will be at 11:00 a.m. Wednesday at the Holmes Memorial Chapel with Rev. David Cox officiating. Burial with military graveside rites by the Sullivan, Shelburn and Hymera American Legions and the Sullivan Veterans of Foreign Wars will be in the Mt. Zion Cemetery at New Lebanon. Casketbearers will be Joe Bedwell, James Gambill, Shane Noble, Cory Bedwell, Lance Noble and Eric Noble. Honorary casketbearers will be Lester Noble, Bill Bogard, Johnie Lee Pirtle, Dean Reed, Jim Crooks and Dick Crooks. Friends may call from 4-8:00 p.m. Tuesday.
