Albert Ray Kiger, 59, of Terre Haute passed away at 2:53 a.m. Thursday, July 29, 2010 at Terre Haute Regional Hospital. The 1969 graduate of Sullivan High School was born May 20, 1951 in Ft. Smith, AR to Sam Kiger and Alma Monks Kiger. He was the former owner of Kiger Trucking ,of Fairbanks, a former miner at Peabody Coal Co. and a U.S. Army veteran of the Vietnam War. He was preceded in death by his wife Rebecca "Tudy" Pinkston Kiger, his parents and one brother Dale Kiger.
Survivors include one son Jeremy (Jessica) Kiger, Terre Haute, three daughters Amy (Doug) Simonson, Brazil, Mandy (Jason) Hall, Cedar Rapids, IA and Brandy Kiger and her fiancé Tim Murphy, Fairbanks, one brother Sam Kiger, Columbia, MO, two sisters Linda Smith, Rockport and Lepha Kiger, Ava Springs, AR, six grandchildren Cody Bradbury, Jake Murphy, Evan Hall, Mason Kiger, Gavin Hall and Aiden Hall and other relatives.
A memorial service will be at 6:30 p.m. Tuesday at the Farmersburg United Methodist Church, 318 W. Main St. with Rev. Don Ransford officiating. Visitation is 4:00 p.m. until time of services Tuesday.
