Virginia Clem, 90, of Sullivan passed away at 9:45 p.m. Tuesday, June 1, 2010 at the Breckenridge Health and Rehabilitation Center. The 1938 graduate of Danville, IL High School was born November 13, 1919 in Danville to Gilbert Pittman and Hazel Cunningham Pittman. She was a homemaker and loved to cook and make Afghans for the babies born at the Sullivan County Community Hospital. She was preceded in death by her husband Robert D. Clem, two sons Robert L Clem and Kelly G Clem, her parents, a brother Gilbert Pittman and three sisters Ethel Mae Pittman, Marie Cox and Marjorie Dines.
Survivors include one son Curtis "Curt" (and Sharon) Clem, Shelburn, five grandchildren Brett Clem, Darren Clem, Leslie Thompson, Lisa Weber and Bobby Clem, several great grandchildren, great, great grandchildren and other relatives. Services will be at will be at a later date at the Springhill Cemetery in Danville, IL. Those who wish make donations to the Sullivan County Humane Shelter.
