David "Dave" Winston Holladay, 81, of Hymera passed away Thursday, April 22, 2010 at the Sullivan County Community Hospital. The 1946 graduate of Hymera High School was born July 1, 1928 in Hymera to Oscar Holladay and Rena Huffman Holladay. Dave worked forty-three years as a technician and electrician for the Pfizer Company and he was also a farmer. He was a U.S. Marine veteran, a member of the Bethel United Methodist Church, a past master and member of the Hymera Masonic Lodge #588 and a lifetime member of the Hymera American Legion. He was preceded in death by his wife Shirley Ann Feltrop Holladay, his parents, three brothers James, Paul and Howard Holladay, three sisters Marguerite Sluder, Ina Sybesma and Christina Riley.
Survivors include three sons David (and Janet) Holladay, Baton Rouge, LA, Damon (and Cheryl) Holladay, Bloomington and Durward (and Sherry) Holladay, Hymera, one sister Irene Gunn, Noblesville, nine grandchildren, four great grandchildren and other relatives.
Services will be at 11:00 a.m. Monday at the Holmes Memorial Chapel in Sullivan with Dan and Steve Gadberry officiating. Burial with military graveside rites by the Sullivan, Shelburn and Hymera American Legions and the Sullivan VFW will be in the K of P Cemetery at Hymera. Visitation is 4-8:00 p.m. Sunday with Masonic services at 7:00 p.m.
