Tommy Ray "Tom" Harrison, 52, of Sullivan died unexpectedly Saturday, January 9, 2010 in Fort Collins, Co while visiting his daughter. The 1976 graduate of Terre Haute South High School was born September 1, 1957 in Terre Haute to Thomas and Kathryn (Hayes) Harrison. He was Co-Owner of the Vead Dodd Sawmill and a member of the First Christian Church. He was a Board Member of the Sullivan County Humane Society, a member of the El Shaddai Emmaus Community and the Sigma Alpha Epsilon Fraternity. Tom, was an avid hunter, fisherman and outdoorsman. He was preceded in death by his parents.
Survivors include his wife of twenty-eight years Debra Dodd Harrison of Sullivan whom he married July 25, 1981, one son John Thomas "Tommy" Harrison, Sullivan, one daughter Danielle Nicole Harrison of Fort Collins, one brother Billy Earl (and Connie) Harrison, Terre Haute, one sister Patricia Kay (and Rick) Eldred, Terre Haute, a sister-in-law Darda (and J.R.) Drew, Sullivan, two nieces Renee' (and Jay) Walter and Teresa (and Rodney) Hendrixson, two nephews Wesley Drew and Ryan Drew, one great niece Alli Walter, two great nephews Brayden Hendrixson and Brett Hendrixson.
Services will be at 11:00 a.m. Thursday at the First Christian Church with Rev. Dale Wise officiating. Burial will be in the Center Ridge Cemetery. Visitation is 4-8:00 p.m. Wednesday at the Church. Pallbearers will be Mark Lighthizer, Steve Black, Jeff Gentry, Brad Miller, Ryan Falconbury, Robert Phillips, Stu Perkins and John Mast. Those who wish may make donations to the First Christian Church Memorial Fund.
