Michael Eugene Steele, 65, of Sullivan passed away at 5:25 p.m. Monday, December 13, 2010 at his residence. The 1963 graduate of Wiley High School was born July 10, 1945 in Coronado, CA Naval Base to Gene Steele and Helen Foutz Steele Mattox. He was a truck driver-salesperson for Consolidated Freightways. Mike, received his bachelor of Science Degree in Safety Management from Indiana State University. He was a member of Crossroads Community Church, a member of the Carlisle Masonic Lodge #3 F&AM, the Sullivan Elks Club, a Levee Board Member for Turman Twp. and a board Member of TTYF for Rural Academy and a member of the Rinky Dinks Golf Team. He was preceded in death by his parents.

Survivors include his wife of forty seven years Pat Beveridge Steele of Sullivan whom he married August 24, 1963 , two daughters Kelly Steele of Sullivan and Kim (and Russ) Kuppler of Sullivan, two sisters Susie Adams of GA and Tammy (and Raymond) Secrest of Sullivan, three grandchildren McKenzie Gentry, Tyler Kuppler and Jackson Kuppler and other relatives.

Services will be at 11:30 a.m. Friday, December 17, 2010 at the Holmes Memorial Chapel with Rev. Eddie Hammond officiating. Burial we be in the Center Ridge Cemetery. Visitation is 4-8:00 p.m. Thursday with Masonic services at 7:00 p.m. Those who wish may make donations to Our Fathers Arms, envelopes will be available at the funeral home.
