Thomas L. "Tom" French, 60, of Shelburn passed away at 11:35 a.m. Saturday, July 3, 2010 in Terre Haute Regional Hospital. He was born August 18, 1949 in Sullivan to Clarence "Bill" French and Virginia Irene Swaby French. He retired as a Chief Petty Officer, Master of Arms from the U.S. Navy after more than twenty-years service. He was a veteran of the Vietnam War and Desert Storm and a lifetime member of the Veterans of Foreign Wars. He was preceded in death by his parents and one brother James French.
Survivors include a brother Bill (and Donetta) French, Bloomington, a sister Lois Ann(and Robert)McGlothlin, Bedford, a special nephew Travis French, a special great niece Taylor French and other relatives. Services will be at 11:00 a.m. Wednesday at the Holmes Memorial Chapel with Rev. David Cox officiating. Burial with military graveside rites by the Sullivan, Shelburn and Hymera American Legions and the Sullivan Veterans of Foreign Wars will be in the Center Ridge Cemetery. Visitation is 5-8:00 p.m. Tuesday.
