Betty Ann Keene, 84, of Sullivan passed away at 10:30 a.m. Saturday, May 8, 2010 at the Sullivan County Community Hospital. The 1943 graduate of Sullivan High School was born November 17, 1925 in Sullivan the daughter of Cecil Crooks and Pansy Broderick Crooks. She was retired from the Indiana American Water Company and worked at the Sullivan County Auditor's Office for several years. Betty, was a member of the First Christian Church, the American Legion Auxiliary, the Sullivan Chapter OES and a past president and honorary member of the PSI IOTA XI. She was preceded in death by her husband Francis Keene, her parents, a brother George Crooks and a sister Jo Hart.

Survivors include three brothers Jim Crooks, Dick Crooks and John Crooks all of Sullivan, four sisters Rose Heck, Anderson, Barbara Anderson and Jane Doyle both of Sullivan and Mary Ellen Dollahan, Shelburn and other relatives. Graveside services will be at 11:00 a.m. Thursday at the Center Ridge Cemetery with Rev. David Cox officiating. Those who wish may make donations in Betty's memory to the First Christian Church, 105 N Broad St., Sullivan, IN 47882. Arrangements were entrusted to the Holmes Memorial Chapel.
