Harland Wilson, 91, of Sullivan passed away at 1:30 p.m. Wednesday, December 1, 2010 at the Breckenridge Health & Living Center. He was born May 15, 1919 in Little Rock, AR to Jess Harvey Wilson and Dorinda Hobbs Wilson. Harland was a retired farmer and truck driver. He a U.S. Air Force veteran of WWII and attended the Crossroads Community Church. He was preceded in death by his wife Thelma Smith Wilson, his parents, two brothers Garland and Leon Wilson and three sisters Katherine Adams, Thelma Sherrod and Dorothy Guikema.
Survivors include five sons Harland "Sonny" (and Ruth Wilson) and Donnis (and Sandy) Wilson all of Sullivan, Rudy (and Beth) Wilson, St Cloud, FL, Timothy (and Tina) Wilson, Kissimmee, FL and Harvey Wilson, Terre Haute, four daughters Nancy (and Bob) Thompson, Sebring, FL, Lorraine (and Bill) Banther and Rebecca (and Terry) Webster all of Sullivan and Durinda (and John) Bontrager, Hudsonville, MI, two brothers Cecil Wilson, Missaukee, and Don Wilson, Speedway, twenty-three grandchildren, forty-four great grandchildren, six great, great grandchildren and other relatives.
Services will be at 2:00 p.m. Saturday at the Holmes Memorial Chapel with Pastor John Bontrager and Dr. Chad Webster officiating. Burial with military graveside rites by the Sullivan, Shelburn and Hymera American Legions and the Sullivan VFW will be in the Center Ridge Cemetery. Visitation is 11:00 a.m. until time of services Saturday. Those who wish may make donations to the Crossroads Community Church or Our Fathers Arm, envelopes will be available at the funeral home.
