Homer Wright, Jr., 82, of Hymera passed away at 11:00 p.m. Saturday, October 30, 2010 at Miller's Merry Manor. The 1946 graduate of Hymera High School was born September 29, 1928 in Sullivan to Homer Wright and Irma Wambaugh Wright. He was a retired supervisor for the Amax Coal Company and a member of the Sons of the American Legion at Hymera. Homer, was a member of the Sullivan Masonic Lodge #263, the Scottish Rite, the Zorah Shrine Temple, the Sullivan County Shrine Club and the Sullivan Elks Club. He was preceded in death by his wife Myrna Lewellyn Wright, one son Johnny W. Wright and his parents.
Survivors include one son Joe (and Nancy) Wright, Hymera, six daughters Debra Ellen (and Ron) Skinner, Sullivan, Candy (and Steve) Cardoza, Madison, CT, Nancee (and Mike Czapliskie, Bella Vista, AR, Jan Wright, Coalmont, Dee (and Jon) Fraley, Greenwood and Chris (and Steve) Pearison, Shelburn, one step-daughter Heather Brown, Terre Haute, seven grandchildren, six great grandchildren and other relatives.
Services will be at 11:00 a.m. Tuesday at the Holmes Memorial Chapel. Burial will be in the Westlawn Cemetery at Farmersburg. Visitation is 4-8:00 p.m. Monday with Masonic services at 7:00 p.m.
