Rhoda Mason Shryock, 88, of Sullivan passed away at 7:58 p.m. Sunday, October 3, 2010 at Cobblestone Crossing Rehabilitation Center, Terre Haute. The 1940 graduate of New Lebanon High School was born April 8, 1922 in New Lebanon to George Mason and Emma Pierson Mason. She along with her late husband James "Butch" Shryock were the owners of several small business in Sullivan County. Rhoda was a member of the New Lebanon United Methodist Church. She was preceded in death by her husband, her parents two brothers George and Herb Mason, five sisters Esther Gilbert, Erma Roberts, Helen Shorter, Alice Wilkins and Margaret Arnett.

Survivors include one son Mike (and Denice) Shryock, Clinton, two daughters Connie (and Art) Neiswanger, Washington and Cathy (and Rod) Alsman, Sullivan, two sisters Kathleen Scott, Sullivan and Mary Lou Mason, Sullivan, six grandchildren JD Neiswanger, Angie Truelove, Chad Shryock, Dan Shryock, Erin Robertson and Katie Alsman, thirteen great grandchildren and other relatives.

Services will be at 11:00 a.m. Wednesday at the Holmes Memorial Chapel in Sullivan with Art Neiswanger officiating. Burial will be in the Mt. Zion Cemetery at New Lebanon. Visitation is 4-8:00 p.m. Tuesday and 8:00 a.m. until time of services Wednesday.
