Carlisle, IN Billy Ray Zaayer, 65, of Carlisle passed away Wednesday, October 12, 2011 at the Methodist Hospital, Indianapolis. The 1964 graduate of Dugger High School was born February 24, 1946 in Sullivan to Herbert Zaayer and Faye Williams Zaayer. He was a retired from the pipefitters and was a member of the Pipefitters Local 157 at Terre Haute. He was a member of the Long's Chapel United Methodist Church, the Carlisle Conservation Club and served in the U.S. Army Reserves. He was preceded in death by his parents and one brother Paul Zaayer. Survivors include his wife of forty-two years Judy Kay Bedwell Zaayer of Carlisle whom he married April 3, 1969, two sons Todd (and Myra) Bedwell of Sullivan and Sean Zaayer, Carlisle, one daughter Stormi Zaayer, Carlisle, five grandchildren Brittney Boone, Chelsey Bedwell, Tiara Bowne, Sydney Drake and Austin Drake, one great grandchild Braxton Boone and other relatives. Services will be at 11:00 a.m. Monday at the Holmes Memorial Chapel, Sullivan with Rev. Bill Sam Phegley officiating. Visitation is 4-8:00 p.m. Sunday.
