Robert "Bob" Smith, 62, of Merom passed away at 9:03 p.m. Friday, September 9, 2011 at Union Hospital in Terre Haute. The 1966 graduate of Sullivan High School was born October 22, 1948 in Sullivan to John Smith and Lucille Reid Smith. Bob loved golf, was a collector of Hot Wheels, an avid reader, and was a driver for IMI. He was a member of the Merom United Methodist Church and cherished his time with his grandchildren, family and friends. Preceded in death are his parents and his brother Steve Smith and granddaughter Kasandra Smith.

Survivors include his wife of 44 years Linda Burns Smith whom he married on November 4, 1966, a son John and his wife Lisa Smith of West Terre Haute, a daughter Stephanie Stonerock and her husband Tony of Sullivan, two brothers John and wife Rita Smith of Merom, Bill and wife Donna Smith of Sullivan, two sisters Jean and husband Dave Swalve of Greenwood, Becky and husband Bob McClure of Danville, sister-in-law Evelyn Smith of Merom, two grandchildren Robert M. Smith, Bodie Stonerock, four step grandchildren, Jessica Fervida, Kevin Fervida and wife Kylee, Kristin Stonerock, and Ryan Voigtman.

Visitation will be from 4-8:00 p.m. Monday at the Holmes Memorial Chapel. Services will be Tuesday at 11:00a.m. at the funeral home with Rev. Jim Beery and Erich Blevins officiating. Burial will be at the Merom Cemetery in Merom IN. In lieu of flowers donations may be made to the Merom United Methodist church. Envelopes will be available at the funeral Home.
