Phillip Wayne Hatfield, 48, of Terre Haute and formerly of Sullivan and Carlisle passed away Monday, August 8, 2011 at Millersburg, OH. The 1981 graduate of Sullivan High School was born March 6, 1963 in Joplin, MO to Harold Hatfield and Janet Sue Sackman Hatfield. He was a self employed pilot and farmer. He was a member of the Shaker Prairie Christian Church, the Aviation Owners and Pilots Association and the Owner and Operators Independent Drivers Association. Phil, had an avid love for all aspects of aviation, farming, family and friends and above all God. He was preceded in death by his mother and grandparents Herman and Ester Hatfield and Red and Frieda Sackman.
Survivors include his wife of twelve years Laura Brentlinger Hatfield of Terre Haute whom he married July 8, 1999, one son Cody Hatfield, Easton, PA, one daughter Ariel Hatfield, Easton, PA, one step-son Mike Bogdan, Sullivan, three step-daughters Staci (Dave) Simpson and Gina Bogdan all of Sullivan and Cami (John) Shorter, Newburgh, two brothers Steve (Judy) Hatfield, Odessa, MO, and Chris Hatfield, Evansville, three sisters Denise (Jeff) Warnick, Cayuga, Ashley (Jerry) Souders, Carlisle and Samantha Hatfield, Vincennes, one granddaughter Brooke Hatfield, several step-grandchildren and other relatives.
Services will be at 1:00 p.m. Sunday at the Holmes Memorial Chapel with Rev. Eddie Hammond officiating. Burial will be in the Odd Fellows Cemetery, Carlisle, IN. Visitation is 4-8:00 p.m. Saturday.
