Johnnie "Nannie" Bernice Black Snapp, 92, of Sullivan passed away at 1:15 p.m. Wednesday, August 3, 2011 at Miller's Merry Manor. She was born September 8, 1918 in Oaktown to John W. Black and Winnie Mae Meeks Black. She was a retired factory worker for the RCA Corporation in Bloomington. She was a collector of Teddy Bears and a Nannie to everyone. She was preceded in death by her husband Ted Snapp, one son William "Bill" Snapp, her parents and three sisters Elsie Black, May Glass and Ruth Shepard.
Survivors include two sons Joe Snapp, Fairbanks and Perry (Rose) Snapp, Sullivan, one daughter Jane (Carl) Huff, Sullivan, twenty-two grandchildren, forty-four great grandchildren, and several great, great grandchildren and other relatives.
Services will be at 11:00 a.m. Saturday at the Holmes Memorial Chapel with Pastors Mark Bailey and Matthew Hayes officiating. Burial will be in the Oaktown Cemetery at Oaktown. Visitation is 4-8:00 p.m. Friday.
