Kenneth Floyd "K. F." Smith, 71, Ocean Springs, Miss., passed away Wednesday, June 22, 2011.
He was born July 18, 1939, to K. B. and Helen Pyles Smith in Sullivan. Before moving to Ocean Springs, he worked in Sullivan with his family business and spent time on Anna Marie Island, Fla., owning several businesses there. Moving to the Gulf Coast 10 years ago, he established a business spanning services to three states. Tri-State Flowers gave him the opportunity to establish many friendships that he cherished until his death. A boating enthusiast, he was happiest behind the wheel of one of his boats on the waters of a favorite river or his beloved Gulf. He was a life member of Sullivan Elks Lodge 911 and enjoyed the membership of yacht clubs from Anna Marie Island to the Gulf Coast. He was preceded in death by his parents.
Survivors include his wife, Ann; mother-in-law, Katherine DeSalvo, Morrilton, Ark.; four children, Cory (and Stacey), K.C. (and Angie), Jeff (and Dawn) and Jason; one sister, Jean (and Don) McMahan; his faithful four-legged friend, Daisy; eight grandchildren, Alex, Tucker, Eli, Annie, Kelsey, Charlie, Derek and Taylor; and other relatives, including nephews, Bret, Brad and Josh (and Mickie) McMahan; grandnieces, Breanna and Peyton; and grandnephew, Ben.
Funeral services were Monday, June 27, at 11 a.m. at Holmes Memorial Chapel, Sullivan. Rev. David Cox officiated. Burial was in Center Ridge Cemetery, Sullivan.
