Rosemary J. "Rosie" Stierwalt, 90 of Sullivan passed away at 11:30 p.m. Sunday, June 19, 2011 at Miller's Merry Manor. The 1939 graduate of Sullivan High School was born May 22, 1921 in Indianapolis to Charles Parks and Mary Hadden Parks. She was a retired assistant secretary at the Farm Bureau Insurance and a former employee of Gossards. She was a member of the First Christian Church, the Sullivan American Legion Auxiliary and a former member of the Hoot Owls Camping Club. She was preceded in death by her husband Fred Stierwalt, her parents, one son Jack Stierwalt, one brother Jack Parks and two sisters Jeannie Parks and Jocelyn Alexander.

Survivors include one son Larry (and Pat) Stierwalt, Apollo Beach, FL, one daughter Linda Eaton, Sullivan, Dea Ann (Sid) O'Dell, Hutsonville, IL, Todd (Terri) Eaton, Sullivan, Chris (Paula) Stierwalt, Danville, IL, Scott (April) Eaton, Lawrenceville, IL, Rich (Cindy) Stierwalt, Newburgh, Eric (Kristie) Eaton, Terre Haute and Emily (Todd) South, Noblesville, nine great grandchildren Erica Eaton, Ian Stierwalt, Alexa Stierwalt, Taylor Eaton, Nick Eaton, Logan South, Jackson Stierwalt, Austyn Stierwalt and Connor South and other relatives.

Graveside services will be at 3:30 p.m. Friday in the Center Ridge Cemetery with Rev. David Cox officiating. There is no visitation. Those who wish may make donations to The Sullivan County Community Foundation. Holmes Memorial Chapel has been entrusted with the arrangements.
