Tony Earl Stewart, 52, of Terre Haute passed away at 2:20 p.m. Friday, July 22, 2011 at his residence. The 1977 graduate of Sullivan High School was born November 3, 1958 in Terre Haute to Henry and Lucille Huff Stewart. Before he was a site manager for Fluor Corporation in Afghanistan, he had served eleven years in the military and was a U.S. Army veteran of Desert Storm. He worked close with the U.S. Military as well as with several nationalities overseas for the past seventeen years and was very proud to serve his country. Tony, was a member of the St. Joseph University Parish Catholic Church and a lifetime member of the Sullivan American Legion and the Sullivan Veterans of Foreign Wars.
Survivors include his wife from Hungary Csilla Melinda Florian Stewart, residing in Terre Haute, whom he married September 14, 1999, one son Derek Stewart, Terre Haute, three daughters Talitha Stewart, Sullivan, Sommer Wilson, Sullivan and Cheyenne Stewart, at home, one sister Debbie Huffman, Bloomfield, four grandchildren Skyla Stewart, Christopher Stewart, William Stewart and Trace Wilson, and many other friends and relatives.
Services will be at 11:00 a.m. Wednesday at the Holmes Memorial Chapel with Friar Mark officiating. Burial with military graveside rites by Sullivan, Shelburn and Hymera American Legions and the Sullivan Veterans of Foreign Wars will be in the Center Ridge Cemetery. Visitation is 4-8:00 p.m. Tuesday.
