Frank Eugene Brown, 79, of Merom passed away at 12:15 a.m. Tuesday, March 29, 2011 at the Breckenridge Health and Living Center. The 1950 graduate of Merom High School was born September 2, 1931 in Merom to Oscar Brown and Josephine McCloud Brown. He was a retired carpenter, a member of Local 133 and a former Area Maintenance Supervisor for the Indiana State Highway. Frank was a U.S. Navy Veteran of the Korean War, a member of the Sullivan American Legion and attended the Merom Assembly of God Church. He was preceded in death by his parents, four brothers Leo, Fergus, Joe and Jim Brown, three sisters Frances Hackett, Thelma Borders and Dorothy Cox and one grandson Jason Brown.

Survivors include his wife of fifty-five years Merilyn Davis Brown of Merom whom he married September 11, 1955, four sons Douglas Brown, Northeast, PA, Gregory (Joy) Brown, Merom, Stanley (Nancy) Brown, Sullivan and James Brown, Indianapolis, two daughters Susan Steele, Media, PA and Jennifer (Michael) Pietras, Ann Arbor, MI, a sister Gertie Ladson, New Palestine, IL, sixteen grandchildren, thirteen great grandchildren and other relatives. Services will be at 11:00 a.m. Saturday at the Holmes Memorial Chapel with Rev. Jeff Canfield officiating. Burial with military graveside rites by the Sullivan, Shelburn and Hymera American Legions and the Sullivan Veterans of Foreign Wars will be in the Merom Cemetery. Visitation is 4-8:00 p.m. Friday.
