Steven Smith, 58, of Merom passed away April 13, 2011 in Community Hospital South, Indianapolis IN. He was born August 9, 1952 in Linton to John Smith and Lucille Reid Smith.

Steven was a 1970 graduate of Sullivan High school and was a System Analyst for Hoosier Energy at the Merom Power Plant. He was a member of the Merom United Methodist Church.

Survivors include his wife Evelyn Nickol Smith of Merom whom he married in July 29, 1972, one son Eric (Karen) Smith of Indianapolis , one daughter Amanda Bogard of Merom, three brothers John (Rita) Smith of Newburgh, Bill (Donna) Smith of Sullivan, and Bob (Linda) Smith of Merom, two sisters Jean (Dave) Swalve of Greenwood, Becky (Bob) McClure of Danville a sister in-law Susan (Bruce) Walker, Chesterfield, three grandchildren Reid Smith, Austin Smith and Susanna Bogard, several nieces and nephews and some very special friends. He was preceded in death by his parents.

Services will be at 1:00 p.m. Sunday April 17, 2011 at the Holmes Memorial Chapel, Sullivan with Rev. Jim Beery and Rev. Eric Blevins officiating. Burial will be at Merom Cemetery. Visitation is 4-8:00 p.m. Saturday. If friends so desire, contributions may be made to the Merom United Methodist Church, envelopes will be available at the Funeral Home
