Melba Jean Ring, 70, of Sullivan passed away at 4:59 p.m. Thursday, March 3, 2011 at Regional Hospital. She was born January 28, 1941 in Cass to Bill Butler and Opal McDade Butler. Melba, was the co-owner and operator of Globe Cleaners, a member of St. Mary's Catholic Church and the Delta Theta Tau Sorority. She was preceded in death by her husband Jerry Ring, her parents, two brothers John and Charles Butler and six sisters Rose Whitlock, Hazel Wright, Betty Wright, Donna Butler, Juanita Butler and Naomi Dorman.
Survivors include four sons Mike (Shannon) Frazee, Parrish, AL, Mark (Carol) Frazee, Goodsprings, AL, Steve (Carrie) Frazee, Sullivan and Mike (Becky) Ring, Sullivan, two daughters Teresa (Bobby) Grimes, Shelburn and Sherry (Paul) Fieldon, Indianapolis, one brother James Butler, Sullivan, two sisters Mary Fredricks, FL and Becky Stapleton, Ft. Wayne, twenty grandchildren, eighteen great grandchildren and other relatives.
Mass of Christian Burial will be at 11:00 a.m. Tuesday at St. Mary's Catholic Church with Father Frank Renner officiating. Burial will be in the Center Ridge Cemetery. Visitation is 4-8:00 p.m. Monday with vigil services at 6:00 p.m. at the Holmes Memorial Chapel.
