Carlisle, IN James W."Jim" Barker, 82, of Carlisle passed away on Friday, November 11,2011, at 4:10PM in his residence. He was born December 3, 1928 in Sullivan County to Cecil Barker and Edith Adams Barker. He is survived by wife Norma Tislow Barker, a sister Nancy Bennie of Nashville, TN., adopted son Travis Barker, and two grandchildren Holly Wessol, and Trevor Wessol. Jim was a lifelong member of Oakland Church of Christ, a retired farmer, and a 1946 graduate of Carlisle High School. He was preceded in death by his parents, a daughter Angie, and a son Mitch. Graveside services will be Tuesday, November 15, 2011, at 2:00PM in Odd Fellows Cemetery in Carlisle with Bro. Allan Griggs officiating. Holmes Memorial Chapel in Sullivan was entrusted with arrangements.
