Ronald W. "Ronnie" Phegley, 66 and Norma Lou Phegley, 64 both of Carlisle passed away at 8:45 p.m. Sunday, March 6, 2011 in Crawford County as a result of an automobile accident. Ronnie, was born May 1, 1944 in Sullivan County to Carl Phegley and Dorothy Cornett Phegley. He was a retired farmer, a mechanic, a member of the Shaker Prairie Christian Church, the Carlisle Odd Fellows Lodge and the Carlisle Masonic Lodge. Norma, was born April 16, 1946 in Sullivan County to Quinton Cleveland and Dorothy Booker Cleveland. She was an employee of the Wabash Valley Correctional Facility, a beautician, a member of the Shaker Prairie Christian Church and the Delta Theta Tau Sorority. They were married June 5, 1964. They were both preceded in death by their parents and Ronnie's sister Beverly Bement.
Survivors include one son Shannon (Stacy) Phegley, Danville, KY, two daughters Shauntel Akers (and fiancé Randy Hill) and Shauna (Mark) Mahurin all of Sullivan, seven grandchildren Kaleb Akers, Whitley Drake, Kalyn Akers, Deidra Drake, Mercedes Phegley, Kyle Akers and Alexus Phegley, Norma's sister Eileen (Phil) Coen, Plainfield and other relatives.
Services for Ronnie and Norma will be at 11:00 a.m. Saturday at the Holmes Memorial Chapel in Sullivan with Rev. Harold Hatfield and Randy Pigg officiating. Burial will be in the Shepherd Cemetery, southwest of Carlisle. Visitation is 4-8:00 p.m. Friday.
