Durward Holladay, 57 of Hymera IN, passed away at Riverview Hospital in Noblesville IN on Saturday December 24, 2011 at 7:57 p.m. He was born on September 6, 1954 in Sullivan Mary Sherman Hospital to David Holladay and Shirley Feltrop Holladay, who preceded him in death. He is survived by his wife Sherry Sluder Holladay, who was his soul mate, best friend, and rock for 33 years. Durward was a proud and devoted father to his children, including a son Cody Holladay (fiancee Megan Bailey) of Hymera IN, daughters Amber Wallace (husband William) of Anderson IN, Tiffany Buesching (husband Seth) of Noblesville IN, and Emeral Holladay (companion Joshua Goff) of Greenwood IN. Durward was also a loving and caring Grandfather to his Grandchildren Christopher Wallace, Carter Holladay, and Sydney Wallace. In addition, he was eagerly awaiting the arrival of another granddaughter and grandson. He had two brothers, David Holladay Jr. (wife Janet) of Baton Rouge LA and Damon Holladay of Bloomington IN, as well as several nieces and nephews.

Durward was a 1972 graduate of North Central High School in Farmersburg IN, and a graduate of Indiana State University, where he obtained a Masters Degree in Industrial Technology Education. He was an Industrial Arts and Physical Education Teacher at South Vermillion High School. Durward was also a member of Hymera Bethel United Methodist Church and the Indiana State Teachers Association. Besides a career in education, he also owned and operated Holladay Farms. Durward's guidance, sense of humor, and willingness to lend a helping hand will be greatly missed by everyone who knew him, Viewing will be held Wednesday, December 28, 2011, from 4:00 to 8:00 PM at Holmes Memorial Chapel in Sullivan IN. Services will be held Thursday at 11:00 AM in the funeral home and officiated by Durward's Cousins Steve and Danny Gadberry.
