Sullivan, IN Charles Robert Riggs, 88 of Sullivan passed away at 5:30PM, February 27, 2012 in Sullivan at the Breckenridge Nursing Home. He was born April 26, 1923 in Merom, IN. to Benjamin Riggs and Bertha Ault Riggs. He is survived by a son Roy Lee Riggs (Connie), daughters Judy Bond (Larry) and Marjorie Dugan (Michael), a brother Allen Riggs, sister Lucille Siscoe, 8 grandchildren , and 12 great-grandchildren. He was preceded in death by his parents, wife Margaret Louise Frisbie Riggs in 1983, daughter Brenda Grass, a brother Benjamin Riggs, a sister Irene Thompson, grandson Keith Riggs, and granddaughter Nancy Grass. He was a Navy Veteran of World War II, a retiree of the Pfizer Company, a lifetime member of the American Legion, a member of the Moose Lodge of Linton, and the Sullivan VFW. Viewing will be Friday, March 2, 2012 from 11:00AM until time of service at 1:00PM with his nephew Rev. Ron Riggs officiating in Holmes Memorial Chapel. Interment will be a private commital service at Merom Cemetery. The Sullivan American Legion, Shelburn American Legion, Hymera American Legion along with the Sullivan Co. VFW will perform military rites at the funeral home immediately follow services.
