Jack K. Kirschner, 56, of Carlisle passed away on Monday December 31, 2012 at Royal Oaks nursing home in Terre Haute after an extended ilness. He was born on March 28, 1956 in Sullivan Co, to Karl and Ruth Wickline Kirschner, who preceded him in death. After graduating in 1975 from Sullivan High School he was employed by Sullivan County Farm Bureau for several years. He also was manager of Royster Clark Fertilizer Plant in Shelburn, Indiana and later was self-employed truck driver until his illness. Survivors include his two sons John Kirschner of Carlisle and Jeremy Kirschner and wife Chelsie of Paxton, two brothers Charlie Kirschner and wife Terri of Carlisle, Kevin Kirschner and wife Pam of Carlisle, a sister Karel Kirschner of Carlisle, nieces Krystal and Kelli Kirschner, nephews Chuck and Kyle Kirschner and a granddaughter Kassy Kirschner. Services for Jack will be at 11:00 a.m. Thursday, January 3, 2013 at the Holmes Memorial Chapel with Pastor Mike Irvine officiating. Visitation will be 4-8 pm Wednesday. Burial will be in Merom Cemetery. The family suggests that if friends so desire memorial contributions may be made to the American Cancer Society, envelopes will be available at the funeral home.
