Lowell Badger, 85 of Graysville passed away on Saturday, December 8, 2012. Lowell was born to Frank Henderson Badger and Beulah Idell Raines Badger on August 28, 1927 in Sullivan County, Turman Township. He is survived by daughters Brenda Bales (Don) of Terre Haute and Linda Sturgeon (Steve) of Bluffton, IN, a son Alan Badger (Audrey) of Sullivan, a sister Eunice Hanthorn of Watertown, SD, a brother Philip Badger (Freda) of Greencastle, grandchildren Don Bales (Bonnie) of Zanesville, IN, Ron Bales (Melissa) of Greenfield, IN, Matthew and Aaron Sturgeon of Bluffton, IN, Kelsey and Patrick Badger of Sullivan, four great-grandchildren Faith, Franklin, Ellie, Ivan Bales of Zanesville, and a very special friend Mary Arnett. He was preceded in death by his wife Nellie Faye Foutz Badger in 2008, a son Byron Raines Badger in 1957, three sisters Halcyon Winters, Hester Hall, and Mary E. Badger. He was a retired farmer and a graduate of Graysville High School in 1945. Lowell was an active member of Kingsley Memorial UMC since 1960 holding various leadership positions in the church. He also served for 28 years on various committees and boards at the Sullivan County Credit Union, 40 years with the Island Levee Conservancy District and 8 years as District 7 Director Farm Bureau. Lowell was a devout Christian who lived by the verse Joshua 24:15b "As for me and my family, we will serve the Lord.

Visitation will be Sunday from 1:00 p.m. to 7:00 p.m. at Holmes Memorial Chapel and services Monday at 11:00 a.m. at The First Christian Church of Sullivan, 105 N Broad St. Sullivan IN 47882 with Revs. Paul Myers, Paul Ayers and Frank VanAllen officiating. Interment will follow in Center Ridge Cemetery in Sullivan.
