Hymera, IN Jetta June Slack, 82, of Hymera passed away at 6:45AM, on June 10, 2012 in her residence surrounded by her family. She was born February 13, 1930 in Bruceville, IN to Michael and Elizabeth Hoban Croney. She was preceded in death by her parents; husband Eugene Slack Jr. (2006), sisters Mary Jeanette Croney, Donetta Dean Barry, brothers Edgar Eugene Croney, Michael Croney Jr. and Carlton Laverne Croney. Jetta is survived by daughters Retta J. Slack and Beth A. Slack, a son Terry L. Slack (Vonciele L.), a sister Anna K. Croney, and grandchildren Schuyler L. Slack and Taleah J. Slack. She was secretary for Hymera Schools for 30 years after which she worked 15 years for Wal-Mart. She was a 1949 graduate of Hymera High School and a member Hymera Bethel United Methodist Church. She enjoyed working in her gardens, ISU Women's Basketball, Indianapolis Colts, and especially her grandchildren. She was a devoted loving mother, sister, grandmother who was proud of her family. Visitation will be Wednesday, June 13, 2012 from 4:00 to 8:00PM at Holmes Memorial Chapel in Sullivan. Funeral services will be Thursday, June 14, 2012 at 2p.m. in the funeral home officiated by Pastor Norman Santus. Interment will follow in Knights of Pythius Cemetery in Hymera. The family request in lieu of flowers that donations be made to Hospice of the Wabash Valley.
