Carlisle, IN Virgil F. Daugherty Jr. 91, of Carlisle passed away at 5:00AM on Thursday, April 5, 2012 in New Willow Manor Nursing Home in Vincennes. He was born June 12, 1920 in Iona, Indiana to Virgil F. Daugherty Sr. and Carrie Morgan Daugherty. He was preceded in death by his parents, his first wife Virginia M. Charlton Daugherty, a sister Lucille Althoff and a brother Bernard Daugherty. He is survived by his wife Rachel Christy Daugherty, sons Joe Daugherty (Phyllis) of Oaktown and Gary Daugherty (Vickie) of Springville, AL., a daughter Kay Mouzin of Oaktown and step-daughters Rita McCammon (David) of Sullivan and Julia Prather (Paul Dudley) of Coatesville, IN., nine grand-children and 19 great-great-grandchildren. Virgil attended school in Decker, IN and was a farmer and operated a dairy herd. He enjoyed travelling, eating out, and spending time with his family. He was a member of the Dairy Association. , and Morris Chapel Church. He was presently attending Rose Chapel Church. Viewing will be Sunday, April 8, 2012 from 3:00 to 7:00PM, and services will be Monday, April 9, 2012 at 10:00AM in Holmes Memorial Chapel in Sullivan with Revs. Bob Taylor and Jan Bond officiating. Interment will be in Morris Chapel Cemetery in Oaktown, IN. Family request in lieu of flowers donations be made to Morris Chapel Cemetery Fund. Envelopes will be available at the funeral home.
