Carlisle, IN Lois Monroe, 90 of Carlisle, passed away at 12:40a.m., March 2, 2012 in Sullivan, IN., at Breckenridge Nursing Home. She was born July 12, 1921 in Sullivan County to Carl Knotts and Gertie Coleman Knotts. She is survived by a daughter Leah Bedwell (Kip) of Robinson, IL., a son Ronnie Monroe (Carol) of Carlisle, a sister Norma Mason of Sullivan, a brother Carl Knotts of Florida, eight grandchildren, and nine great-grandchildren She was preceded in death by her parents, husband Albert Keith Monroe in 2011, a son Billie Keith Monroe, sisters Ruth Blice, Helen Leak, and Erma Dugan. She was a member of Shaker Prairie Christian Church, Home Extension Club of Carlisle, and a 1939 graduate of Carlisle High School. Viewing will be Sunday, March 4, 2012 from 2:00 to 6:00PM, and services on Monday,11:00 a.m. March 5, 2012 in Holmes Memorial Chapel of Sullivan with Rev. Bill Burress officiating. Interment will follow in the Odd fellows Cemetery in Carlisle.
