Shelburn, Walter (Poog) Prater Jr, 47, of Shelburn passed away on Saturday February, 25, 2012 at Terre Haute Regional Hospital. He was born in Knox IN on August 31, 1964 to Walter Prater Sr. and Barbara Busam Prater. Preceded in death are his parents, step mother Linda Prater, a sister Carla Ann Lowe, and a brother Jason Prater. Surviving are his life partner Cammie Wilson Smith of Shelburn, mother in-law Maudeie Wilson, a step son Steven and his wife Jody Smith of Shelburn, a brother Marty Prater of Shelburn, two sisters Kim Prater of Sullivan, Syerra Prater of La Porte,foster sister Dorthyea Williams of La Porte, step grandson Gavin Smith, several Nieces, nephews and special K-9 friends Sadie, Biscuit and Jack. Visitation will be at the Holmes Memorial Chapel on Tuesday, February 28, 2012 from 4-8 p.m. Graveside services will be on Wednesday at 11:00 a.m. at the Dugger cemetery with Rev. Shad Akers officiating.
