Sullivan IN, Roy "Moe" Parsons, 80, of Sullivan, passed away on Jan 16, 2012 in Millers Merry Manor in Sullivan. He was born on July 22, 1931 to Gilbert Parsons and Janette Dudley Parsons. He was a 1949 graduate of Graysville High School, and had retired from REMC and CDI as a carpenter. He was a member of the Elks Lodge of Sullivan, 50 yr member of the Sullivan Masonic Lodge F & AM, Scottish Rite Valley of Terre Haute, Zorah Shrine Temple, Sullivan Co Shrine Club, and Sullivan First Baptist Church. Preceding Roy in death were his parents, sisters Dorothy Ellis, Ruby Navel, Mary Poling and Abby Patillo, and a brother Wilbur Parsons. Survivors include his wife of 61 years Virginia Blice Parsons whom he married on July 9, 1950, three daughters Rhonda Ford of Sullivan and special friend Bob Foutch, Rita Smith and her husband Mike of Sullivan, Annette McCammon and her husband Todd of Houston TX, two brothers Tom Parsons of Shelburn, Frank Parsons of AL., five grandchildren Brad Sater, Andrea Miller, Craig Ford, Kenneth Ford, Taylor McCammon, six great grandchildren and several nieces and nephews. Services are Wednesday, January 18, 2012 at 2:00PM at the Holmes Memorial Chapel with Revs. Timothy Fleace and Mike Smith officiating. Viewing will be from 10:00AM until time of service, burial will follow at Mt. Tabor Cemetery. The family suggest in lieu of flowers, donations may be made to Amy & Andy Smith, Missionaries, in care of the First Baptist Church, or the First Baptist Church, envelopes will be available at the Funeral Home.
