Shelburn, Wendell "Chick" Davis, 74, of Shelburn passed away on Tuesday April 30, 2013. He was born in Sullivan Co. on March 15, 1939 to Harry and Effie Robertson Davis. He was a 1957 graduate of Union High School, was employed at Quaker Maid and B & G Home Improvements in Shelburn, he was a member of the Sullivan Eastern Stars and The Sullivan Masonic Lodge F& AM # 263. Preceding him in death are his parents, four brothers Elmer "Bill" Davis, Harold O. "Peanut" Davis, Claude K. "Jiggs" Davis, Donald G. "Pod" Davis, sisters Edith L. Lewellyn (Lewis), Catherine E. "Kate" Arnett (Orval), Mildred "Phrone" Padgett (Beryl), Doris A. Davis, Lois Saucerman (M. Wayne), and a sister in-law Betty Davis. Survivors include his wife of 53 years Ellen Henderson Davis, a son Gerald Davis of Farmersburg, a daughter Marsha Boes of Terre Haute, a sister Eva Mae Meyer (Dave), three brothers M.R. "Dick" Davis of Sullivan, Loren D. Davis and his wife Verne of Shelburn, Robert D. Davis and his wife Ruthanna of Sullivan, three grandchildren Amanda Wheeler and her husband William "Billy", Jonathan Boes, Jenny Davis, and a great grandchild Laylah Wheeler. Services for "Chick" will be11 AM Monday May 6, 2013 Holmes Memorial Chapel with Rev. Norman Santus officiating. Visitation will be Sunday 4-8 PM with Eastern Star services at 6:30 and Masonic services at 7 PM. Burial will be at Center Ridge Cemetery.
