Mary Kathryn Gilbert, 93, of Shelburn passed away on January 20, 2013 in Millers Merry Manor. She was born on September 26, 1919 to Thomas and Marie Theresa "Mayme" Laurent Nash. Mary was a graduate of Shelburn High School, had worked in the Shelburn Bank, Starks Drug Store and the United States Post Office. She belonged to the St. Mary Catholic Church and the Shelburn American Legion Post Aux. Preceding her in death was her husband Jack Franklin Gilbert on April 5, 2010, her sons Bradley Neil Gilbert, infant, Christopher Gilbert on August 5, 2009 and Neil Gilbert on January 11, 2013. Survivors include her son Mark (Deb) Gilbert of Sullivan, her daughter Mindy Gilbert of Shelburn, a brother Jim Nash of Gering NE, a sister Loretta Sajko of AZ, and four grandchildren Lindsay Hunter, Meredith Gilbert, Ian Gilbert Jordan Gilbert 4 great grandchildren and several nieces and nephews. Services for Mary will be 11 am on Wednesday January 23, 2013 in St. Mary Catholic Church with Fr. Frank Renner officiating. Visitation will be in the Holmes Memorial Chapel on Tuesday from 4 to 8 pm with prayer service at 7 pm. Burial will take place in Little Flock Cemetery. If friends so desire, memorial contributions may be made to the church or the Chris Gilbert Memorial Scholarship Fund, through the Wabash Valley Community Foundation, envelopes will be available at the funeral home.
