Neil Gilbert, 55, of Shelburn passed away on Friday, January 11, 2013 at IU Methodist Health University in Indianapolis. He was born on July 13, 1957 in Sullivan Co to Jack and Mary Kathryn Gilbert. Neil was a 1975 graduate of North Central High School and an avid reader, a history buff and was a member of St. Mary's Catholic Church in Sullivan. He was preceded in death by his father, 2 brothers Bradley Neil Gilbert, and Christopher Gilbert. Survivors include his mother, a brother Mark (Deb) of Sullivan and a sister Mindy Gilbert of Shelburn two nieces Lindsay Hunter, Meredith Gilbert, two nephews Ian Gilbert and Jordan Gilbert. Services for Neil will be 11 am on Tuesday January 15, 2013 at St Mary's Catholic Church in Sullivan with Fr. Frank Renner officiating. Visitation will be on Monday at the Holmes Memorial Chapel from 4 to 8 pm. With prayer service at 7 pm. Burial will follow in Little Flock Cemetery. The family suggests that in lieu of flowers memorial contributions may be made to St. Mary's Catholic Church or the Chris Gilbert Memorial Scholarship Fund c/o The Wabash Valley Community Foundation, 2901 Ohio Blvd., Suite 153, Terre Haute, In. 47803 Envelopes will be at the Funeral Home.
