Rachel Mae Carrithers , 96, of Sullivan went home to be with Jesus, in Sullivan County Community Hospital, on April 10, 2013. She was born March 10, 1917 in Pleasantville, IN. to Russell Berry and Josie Detty Berry. Rachel is survived by a daughter Debra Jane Bond of Carlisle, a son Donald Roy Land of Duluth, GA, grandchildren Gordon Land (Debra), Collette Donnar (Kevin), Ryan Bon d (Stephanie) and Lacey Bond, and great-grandchildren Chase Ryan Bond, Carson Joshua Donnar, Elania Snow Donnar, Rylynn Nicole Bond, two great grandchildren Tyler Jordan Land, Erica Diana Land and another great-grandchild due in October, and a sister Norma Jean Boone of Sullivan. She was preceded in death by her parents, her first husband John J. Land and second husband Burnett Carrithers, and sisters Margaret Berry, Helen Risley, and Martha Trimble, and her aunt Mildred Banther. She was a loving mother, grandmother and great-grandmother, and a graduate of Pleasantville High School in 1934. Visitation will be Wednesday, April 17, 2013 from 10:00 until time of service at 1:00PM in Holmes Memorial Chapel with Rev. Glen Archer officiating. Interment will follow in Oddfellows Cemetery in Carlisle.
