Nancy Kay Snyder Burr, 89, of Carlisle, was graciously welcomed into the eternal splendor of Heaven on Tuesday, September 16, 2025 at The Waters of Sullivan. Nancy began her life journey on May 11, 1936 in Paxton, Indiana the daughter of the late Rush and Ruby Snyder. She was a 1954 graduate of Carlisle High School. She married her lifetime love, Bill Burr on September 3,1954 . They were blessed to share life together for 70 years.

Nancy was the epitome of Proverbs 31. She deeply embodied the qualities of kindness, was diligent in providing for her family, had compassion for others, her home and family were well cared for, all while having the innermost respect and praise of her family. She was a longtime member of Carlisle Christian Church where she taught Sunday school and was bookkeeper and deacon. Nancy’s work outside the home included Burr’s Appliance in Carlisle and Gossard’s Garment Factory. She was also a member of Rebekah Lodge, Carlisle Chapter.

Awaiting her arrival at Heavens gates were her parents, her loving husband Bill, infant son, Bruce Burr along with a brother, Ben Snyder .

Those left to cherish her memory are her devoted children, Doug Burr (Tammy) and Sue Changnon; sisters, Dorothy Haberle (Dale) and Linda Cave; grandchildren, Alyssa Osborne (Eamon), Mikaela Nolley (Dylan), Jorden Burr (Katie), Trisha Fortner (Steven), Kelsey Cosgrove (Michael) and Jayden Roberson (Alex); 9 great-grandchildren and 4 great-great grandchildren, along with several extended family and friends.

A celebration of a life well lived will be held at a later date.

Holmes Memorial Chapel and staff were honored to assist the family with arrangements.
