Nancy Moore Cooksey of Dugger, a devoted mom, sister, grandma and friend answered the soft sweet voice of Jesus to come home on Thursday, Frebruary 13th surrounded by her family after an extended illness, at the Waters of Sullivan.
She was born to the late Dr. Homer Lee Moore and Betty Jo Davis Moore in Bicknell Indiana on August 6, 1946. Nancy was a graduate of Linton High School. She married the love of her life, Donald Rex Cooksey on July 18,1964. He precedes her. She attended Linton First Christian Church, then Dugger Church of Christ in later years.
Nancy had the gift of “Love” that she shared with family and those around her. She nurtured and lovingly raised her grandchildren. She was a caregiver for elderly patients, making them feel loved and cared for. She lived life to the fullest, she enjoyed being surrounded by family, attending church, going out to eat for a good meal, and was always up for a thrift shopping trip. Her kind spirit and gentle heart made her special to those who knew her. Her father lovingly called her a “saint”. She will be deeply missed while her memory is cherished for years to come by her family.
She is preceded in death by her parents; husband, Donald Cooksey and son, Chase Alan Cooksey.
Those here to cherish her memory are her children, Darin Cooksey (Patty), Bradley Cooksey, Katie Rondinaro (Brooks); daughter in-law Natalie Rinck; siblings, Nick Moore (Babs), Bruce Moore (Debbie), Mike Moore, Susan Dickerson (Mike), Sara Correll (Bryan) and Connie Sears (Roger); grandchildren, Jarod, Devin, Cooper Cooksey, Mia Cooksey, Kylie Cooksey, Nolan and Logan McDaniel along with their mother, Kacee McDaniel.
