Nancy Joan (Frye) Nitti

Nancy Joan Frye Nitti, 82 of Sullivan slipped into eternal rest on Monday, February 17, 2025 at Methodist Hospital, surrounded by her loving family. She entered this life in Rector PA the daughter of William and Mary Nessenthaler Frye, on August 14,1942.  After graduating she married the love of her life and soulmate, William “Bill”  Nitti on June 10, 1964. Nana was a career wife and homemaker. Her family and friends that were like family to her enjoyed her cookies, cupcakes and baking creations. She was always thoughtful and enjoyed sharing with her medical care team’s. She was an avid collector of Coca-Cola , Pez and all things knick-knacks. She was a true collector. She enjoyed crocheting, coloring, and playing games online in her spare time. She and her husband enjoyed building and decorating miniature houses. She painstakingly painted and decorated each one.

Nancy’s contagious smile and sweet nature attracted those around her. She was a bit opinionated, with love of course, she would speak her mind. Nancy was an endlessly devoted wife, mom, grandmother and great grandmother to her children along with bonus family and children. She genuinely loved all she met and they in return loved her. She has left eternal imprints in the hearts of those who loved her.

Those preceding her are her parents; great-grandson, Garth Hicks and special aunt, Kay Nessenthaler.

Those left to cherish her memory are her husband of 61 years, Bill Nitti; children, Ruth Anne Blackwood (Bob Gomez) of Lake Mathews CA., Mary Nitti Herndon (Brian) of Sullivan IN., Stephanie Smith (Kurt McKnight) of Kona HI.; sisters, Mary B. Hensell of Tempe AZ. and Ruth Anne Schreiber of Litchfield AZ. Several grandchildren, great grandchildren, nieces and nephews along with many extended family and friends.

There will be a celebration of her life at a later date.

Holmes Memorial Chapel and staff were honored to assist the family with arrangements.
