Nancy Jane Bright, 71, Sullivan, passed away on November 10, 2024.
She was born August 2, 1953 in Noblesville, Indiana to Walter and Grace Voss. She was the youngest of six children. She was graduated from Yorktown High School in 1971. She was a retiree of Kerns Service Stations, where she worked as a manager. She performed various duties at and around Sullivan High School athletic events, was active in the meal distribution program at St. Mary’s Catholic Church in Sullivan and also served Sullivan County children as a Court Appointed Special Advocate. She was active on election days working at polling locations around Sullivan County, and was an integral member of Northwood Baptist Church, her church home of 30 years.
She was preceded in death by her parents; her husband of 51 years, David; two brothers, Terry and Dave; and one sister, Carol.
Survivors include one son, Evan Bright; one daughter, Lesley Bright; one daughter-in-law, Rachel Barnhart; one granddaughter, Callihan Barnhart; one brother, Gene Voss; one sister, Mary Voss; one sister-in-law, Shirley Voss; and several nieces, nephews and other various relatives.
Arrangements are being handled by Holmes Memorial Chapel in Sullivan. Visitation will be Thursday from 4 to 7 p.m., with services immediately following. A private graveside service will be Friday morning in Center Ridge Cemetery, Sullivan.
