Nathan “Nate” Hedden of Hymera, passed on from this life on Friday, December 13, 2024, in the comfort of his home, with his loving family at his side. Nate entered this life on February 23, 1946, in West Terre Haute, Indiana, the son of Harry and Frances Washburn Hedden.
He graduated West Vigo High School and went on to be a valued employee of Weston Paper Mill, of where he retired with 40 years of dedicated service. On December 27, 1968, he married his life partner of 56 years, Linda Wilber Hedden. Together they raised and lovingly nurtured 3 children, were rewarded with 6 grandchildren and 6 great-grandchildren. He attended Ellis Church of Christ.
Nate loved his family and was a dedicated family man, who was diligent in all things he put his hand to. Never one to be idle and always on the go, he was always tinkering with tractors. He was a self-proclaimed ‘Jack of all trades- master of none”. He was always busy. He enjoyed the outdoors, sometimes puttering, fishing and coon, deer, rabbit, squirrel and duck hunting. He loved horses and all farm animals. He also enjoyed Dinkys and Rockville Auction barns. If you knew Nate, you knew he never met a stranger, and loved to talk the day away. He was a friendly caring man, who was willing to lend a helping hand where needed. He enjoyed the company of people at Hymera Marathon, while drinking his morning coffee. First and foremost, he loved and cared for his family, his wife, children, grandchildren and great- grandchildren. They were his most prized achievement in life. He cherished every second of the time spent with them.
He is preceded in death by his parents; siblings; Russell Hedden, Harry Allen Hedden and Nancy Michaels, along with a great grandson Hunter Neff.
Those here to cherish a lifetime of memories are his loving wife, Linda Hedden; children, Nathan “Bud” Hedden, Stacie Fulford (Lee) and Jodie Oliver Evo; siblings, John (Pam) and Kenny Hedden, Lois Selvia and Mandy Nelson (Jerry); grandchildren, Allan Parks, Tiffany Neff (Caleb), Shelby Hedden, Brandon Davis, Stormie Barton and Aliyah Marie Oliver Evo; great grandchildren, Isabella, Jacob, Blake, Colten and Sophia Neff.
